~ “We don’t need a sign to know better times.”

I believe this is the first Beach House song I ever heard, having been posted to facebook by my good friend and long-time record shopping pal Krystal. A great choice, and one that merited further investigation.

The music video for this is much more befitting of the music than that of Walk in the Park, in my opinion, and shows wistful scenes of children at play, eating ice cream, swimming, and doing other summery kid things in a haze that hearkens to “better times”. The video was directed by Jon Leone, who also directed the video for Beach Houses earlier Gila, from their Devotion album, which I do not yet own, but could probably stream at will. John Leone has a rather minimalist web site here, and a well populated Vimeo channel here.

Please enjoy Jon Leone’s official music video for Better Times below.
